Pottery & Ceramics
Wednesday 10th Sept Afternoon 1:30pm - 4pm or Evening 6:30pm - 9pm (10 weeks £250)
Our pottery and ceramic classes allow you to learn at your own pace in a relaxed, creative environment. You’ll explore key techniques including slabbing, coiling, extruding and throwing, with beginners supported through individual guidance.Practical projects help you understand the potential of clay, develop observational skills, and improve your sense of three-dimensional form. Finished pieces can be fired and decorated with acrylics or glazes.
For those with more experience, advanced casting techniques are introduced, using plaster, silicone rubber or polyester to create moulds. These can then be used to reproduce your work in bronze or metallic-filled resins, offering exciting new creative possibilities

Pottery Throwing

This 5-week pottery throwing course focuses on building strong technique through consistent practice. Using your own wheel, you’ll learn how to center clay and throw a variety of shapes, developing both confidence and control.As your pots dry, you’ll refine and finish them through the process of turning. By the end of the course, you can select two of your best pieces to be glazed and fired, giving you beautifully finished creations to take home. Perfect for beginners and improvers alike.

Sketching & Drawing

Our sketching and drawing classes are designed for both complete beginners and those with some experience. For newcomers, the focus is on building self-confidence through individual support in the early stages, while exploring a range of mediums and techniques.
More experienced students receive tailored guidance and advice to help refine their skills and develop their personal style. Classes also provide the opportunity to work alongside others in a relaxed, friendly, and informal environment, making it an enjoyable space to learn, share ideas, and grow creatively.

Life Drawing
Tuseday 30th Sept : Morning 10:30am - 12:00pm (10 weeks £200)
This tutored life drawing class is open to both beginners and more experienced artists. Working from a nude model, you’ll explore the human form, focusing on proportion, anatomy, and expression. Sessions include a variety of short and longer poses, giving you the chance to practice quick sketches as well as more detailed studies.With demonstrations, group tuition, and one-to-one guidance from our resident artist and tutor, Tony Brookes RCA, you’ll gain confidence, improve your skills, and develop your own drawing style in a supportive and creative environment.
